THE MRTC. Officially founded in 1907, the Mount Royal Tennis Club (the MRTC) actually dates back to the 1880s where it was first created at another location close by. As the oldest tennis club in the city, the MRTC has evolved to become one of the most exclusive tennis Clubs in Montreal. Our Club’s history is a rich and storied one, punctuated with 25 Davis Cup Ties and many other international and national tournaments that continue to this day.
In warm weather, you can enjoy playing casual tennis in Montréal’s parks. In cold weather, there are indoor courts in some municipal parks and sports centres. In some cases, there may be a fee, but many courts are free of charge to Loisirs cardholders, while others are free to anyone.
